Report and Comments:
The Easter Egg hunt will be April 20
at the Evergreen City Park. The Easter
Bunny will be on hand for pictures.
There are some issues with the following
properties; 526 Reynolds, 106 Highland Court and 311 Pecan Street.
526 Reynolds and 311 Pecan Street
residences have been sent letters to clean up the property with no action
having been taken. It was determined the
city would move on to the next step in their action plan.
The owner of the 106 Highland Ct. property
appeared before the council to inform them they had made good faith efforts to
get estimates as to the cost to repair/restore the property. Unfortunately it seems the owner encountered
somewhat devious people that passed themselves off as licensed contractors but
they were not. The owner is currently
waiting for Mr. Darwin Coving to provide an estimate and requested the council
grant additional time. The council
agreed to give her an additional 6 months to comply.
The NAACP presented the council with a
detailed list of questions dealing with utility bills, ie., electrical system
bills, water system bills and sewer/wastewater management system bills. This list was presented to the council inside
a sealed envelopment. A copy was also
given to the news media. This list is to
extensive to attempt to cover in this regular report and will be incorporated
on this website at the end of this report.
The Shack applied for a new, updated
liquor license. Application approved by
Mayor noted the columns and handrails at
City Hall were showing a lot of wear and tear.
Mayor Wolff will take action to have them repainted. Also noted, the roof to fire station beside
City Hall leaks. Bids for repairs will
Highway 84 will be facing an upgrade to 4
lane from Interstate 65 to the airport.
This will increase the right of way from 80 feet to 200 feet. The state will pay all expenses to move
The pumper truck is not working, requires
a new truck. New truck cost $400,000.00
and will be paid at a rate of $4,750.00 per month for 10 years. Approved for purchase by unanimous vote.
